This is a work in progress, all cards subject to change.

This is the Chess Cube, an Orzhov Cube themed around Chess! I heard Anthony of Uber Cube fame talk about it and knew I had to build this!

At the end of the draft, players can take any number of Plains OR any number of Swamps, but you can only pick one or the other. If you want to play both colors, you have to draft the mana fixing.

Creatures are all either:

Pawns: Exceptipnally basic, simple creatures. These are the grunts of your creature base.

Vanilla Creatures: A subset of the pawns. Whoever has more vanilla creatures in their deck chooses who played or draws first. If only one player has zero vanilla creatures, then the player that does have vanillas in their deck both plays and draws first.

Knights: Creatures , of the type “knight,” that grant some kind of benefit when attacking.

Bishops: Creatures, all of type “Cleric,” which offer some kind of benefit, through card advantage, creature reanimation, or powering your creatures up.

Rooks: These creatures, no specific type, create a great defense, but can easily switch to offense when the time is right.

Royalty; These Legwndary creatures have powerful effects. Some creatures in the Knights, Bishop and Rook ranks are legendary as well.

Each player builds a 40 card deck, with one Legendary serving as a bonus, 41st card, and your commander. You can summon your commander just as in the commander format.

Decks can contain no more than 16 creatures, including the commander.

Combat is the name of the game here, so a lot of combat tricks are present, and most of the creatures focus on turning sideways.
